One of the best and most accurate memes I\u2019ve seen online the last few weeks <\/p>\n\n\n\n

goes something like this: \u201cIt\u2019s almost fall in Florida and you know what that <\/p>\n\n\n\n

means? Nothing. Absolutely Nothing. It\u2019s still Florida and it\u2019s hot.\u201d Considering <\/p>\n\n\n\n

it\u2019s 91 outside as I sit under the fans on the lanai writing this I couldn\u2019t agree <\/p>\n\n\n\n

more.\u00a0 With that said let\\’s move on to our Florida bass fishing report for October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there is some activity in the tropics the Farmer\u2019s Almanac is <\/p>\n\n\n\n

forecasting a drier month in the mid-80\u2019s. Let\u2019s hope it\u2019s not drought-type dry <\/p>\n\n\n\n

because that can have some adverse effects for the big lakes. The smaller, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

deeper, spring-fed lakes won\u2019t feel the pressure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So let\u2019s get to the fishing in these conditions and start on the Kissimmee Chain <\/p>\n\n\n\n

of Lakes fishing out of Camp Mack, an Old Florida Lodge, Marina, and RV <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resort. The water is falling slightly but as it stands there is an awesome <\/p>\n\n\n\n

morning topwater bite in scattered pockets around pads and kissimmee grass, as <\/p>\n\n\n\n

well as out in open water over shell beds, eel grass, and contour breaks. This is <\/p>\n\n\n\n

the time to throw your favorite black and gold Devil\u2019s Horse, Spook, or any <\/p>\n\n\n\n

other bigger profile topwater including bigger Pop\u2019Rs. Once the sun gets up <\/p>\n\n\n\n

high, and depending upon wind or cloud cover that game will end and it\u2019s time <\/p>\n\n\n\n

to switch to Z-Man EVO chatterbaits and Gambler EZ Swimmers. Flipping <\/p>\n\n\n\n

junebug or black & blue senkos is always a safe bet around pads, outside grass <\/p>\n\n\n\n

lines, or holes in the hydrilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moving back to Winter Haven and the South Chain I don\u2019t really expect to feel <\/p>\n\n\n\n

too many effects from the weather. Many of these lakes are insulated from <\/p>\n\n\n\n

pattern changes because they have deeper water, deeper vegatation, and are <\/p>\n\n\n\n

spring fed. All of that means you may not always bust them up top but they are <\/p>\n\n\n\n

always there and you can find fish actively feeding. Now to clarify, I will still <\/p>\n\n\n\n

have a Pop-R or Jumpin\u2019 Minnow tied-on every single trip out no matter what. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will also have my usual arsenal of Z-Man jerk shads & flukes, 1\/4oz jig heads <\/p>\n\n\n\n

and smaller swimbaits, both shallow and mid-depth crankbaits, and more than <\/p>\n\n\n\n

likely a jerkbait or two. Here, I\u2019m 99% sure to have all of these in more natural <\/p>\n\n\n\n

colors in the white\/pearl, pearl\/blue back, watermelon reds, chrome\/black back <\/p>\n\n\n\n

families.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
